David Crowley is a tutor in the History of Design at the Royal College of Art, London. He has published several books, including An Introduction to Victorian Style (Quintet, 1990), Graphic Design. Reproduction and Representation since 1800 (co-author, Manchester University Press, 1992), and Socialism and Style. Material Culture in Post-War Eastern Europe (co-editor, Berg, 2000). He is the review editor of Journal of Design History and editor for the Objekt series of books for Reaktion Books. His articles on design have appeared in The Eoconomist, Design, Journal of Design History, World of Architecture, Creative Review, and Blueprint. he lives in Brighton.
