EARLY PRINTED LEAF INCUNABULA: From Biblia Latina, an incuable work printed in Venice in 1478 by Theodorici de Reynsburch & Reynaldi de Nouimagio. A fine example of Italian printing of little more than a score of years after Gutenberg. The type is clear gothic and though shorn of rubrcations or initial lettering, it is a beautiful hallmark of the time.
Descrizione libro: Approximately sized 8 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches. Some light age toning, small edge stain, glue remains from hinging shows on the recto; tear or scratching, about 2 inches including partially closed, 1/2 inch tear. Four small ink margin marks. Attractive leaf with broad blank margins, verso is the best side to show. The appearance of the tear could be improved by a professional paper archivist, if desired. Fitted into a Mylar sleeve with acid-free backing board for preservation and display. May be framed, with or without matting. Scans made and inquires welcome.
