“Dividing my time between my art studios in south Texas and northern Mexico, I never run out of inspiration for paintings”. Art began for me at an early age when I won a grade school contest while growing up in Pennsylvania. I later moved with my family to Michigan, where I met my husband. We had twin daughters and in 1994, we were offered the opportunity to relocated to Monterrey, Mexico. As an artist, it was an opportunity of a lifetime. I immediately fell in love with the rich colors and traditions of the Mexican culture. Much of my work began to reflect the Spanish influenced architecture and divers florals found in the surrounding small towns. I eventually began working on a series of paintings called “The Talavera Twins and their Fiesta Friends”. These unique Mexican doll characters had a personal connection for me and my twin daughters. What began as a few still life ideas, in between painting projects, grew into a series of characters that developed personalities of their own. I recently completed a children's book starring The Talavera Twins and it is in the process of being published. I am also working on licensing the images for product. Whatever the subject matter, I enjoy painting in my well known unique style of combining bright, bold, vibrant colors with puzzle like compositions. I have enjoyed exhibiting my work at various shows throughout Texas, Michigan, New York and Mexico.
