Each volume made up of loose sheets and loose editorial paperbacks with titles on the cover and protective transparent dust jackets, housed in individual publisher slipcases. Slipcase and container in rigid cardboard with gilt motifs and titles on the spine. 6 Volumes: Hell: Vol I - 7-158pp (17 tables); Vol II - 173-326pp (17 tables) - Purgatory: Vol I - 9-161pp (17 tables); VOL II - 173-328pp (16 Tables) - Paradise - VOL I - 9-163pp (17 tables); VOL II - 173-320pp (16 tables). Excellent specimens, very slight discoloration of the slipcases, fresh and clean interior. The present six-volume edition of the Divine Comedy with 100 illustrations by Salvador Dali was printed in 3044 copies. Under the direction of the master typographer Giovanni Mardersteig, forty-four copies were printed in the hand press of the Bodoni workshop in Verona on Japanese paper "Kaji Torinoko" and three thousand copies by the Stamperia Valdonega in Verona, on handmade paper from Magnani Brothers of Pescia. The engravings and plates were made in Paris under the direction of Master Raymond Jacquet, on Rives paper. The bindings was carried out by Legatoria Torriani in Milan. April MCMLXIV. First edition accompanied by illustrations by Dalì. Text in Italian language. In very good condition.
