Prima edizione
First Edition. 12mo (19cm.); original simulated cloth in white decorative dust jacket; viii,127,[1]pp.; 8 leaves of plain photographic illustrations printed on rectos and versos. Dust jacket quite dust-soiled; small short tear at spine crown, additional minor shelf wear, else Fine in About Very Good jacket. Professional memoir of one of the leaders of the Mothers' Union, a still-extant English Christian charity founded by Mary Sumner in 1876. The Union when first created was considered to be rather "radical," granting membership to women of all social classes. This work, which covers the activities of the Union during World War II, is rather scarce, with three copies located in OCLC as of January, 2015; Kansas only in North America.
