Libro Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. 1st Edition. Square quarto, 235mm x 235mm. 40pp. Pale oatmeal, cloth boards, red lettering to spine. The jacket is unclipped, with very minor edgewear, and a couple of short, closed tears at the top edge of the rear panel with minor grubbiness. The fore-edge of the front panel with a pale water stain. No inscriptions or blemishes in the text.Michael Flanders [1922-1975] was an actor and writer of comic songs, who wrote and performed hugely successful post-war revues with his friend, Donald Swann. The illustrator, Marcello Minale [1938-2000] was a renowned designer who came to England in 1962. The illustrations here exemplify his influential design philosophy of vibrant informality. Flander's comic poems, in the vein of Edward Lear continue to charm with their unexpected and hilarious rhymes.
