Descrizione libro: dated at colophon 'September 1270' (from Egira, so meaning year 1825 A.D.)., 1825. 4to (the leaf 224 x 160 mm), writing space 160 x 90 mm, lines ruled in blind, text of (apparently) at least three different hands on a single column of 25 lines in brown and red ink, with catchwords, altogether 336 leaves, mostly in quires of 10 leaves each. Contemporary 'wallet' binding in red morocco with blind ruling on covers; the leaves of last quire a bit waterstained (some damage to last leaf) and with marginal repairs, few other marginal repairs to first leaves too, some quires loose, generally well preserved and in fresh condition. Apparently complete, in the first page we find the ritual opening phrase with the basmalah at beginning and the invocation of God for his help and assistance, the colophon is dated 'September 1270' (from Egira, year 1825 of our age), and on title there is a stamp with date '1270 H', but without any mention of the name of the copist. Text structure: any single poetry composition is treated as a single one, and at the end of each one there is a short explanation or comment. There are very short compositions with only two or three verses, and others going through two or three pages; the most part of them has a qasidic form, and the arguments are of several matters and don't seem to be arranged with any order. Hieronymus Bock (1498-1554) is considered one of the German founding fathers of botany, who marked a transition between medieval and modern botany with an insistence upon empirical descriptions and illustrations. In this celebrated Kreuterbuch he describes 567 of the 6,000 species of plants and their potential pharmacological use.The final portion of the book, illustrated with non-botanical genre scenes, is a gastronomic treatise wherein Bock discusses the four elements and the basic production of preserved meats, cheese, wines and other foods. The photos of Egypt are showing 4 views of Suez (including the Channel), beautiful sketches of daily life in the streets of Cairo, its palaces, the Mosque, the Citadel, the way driving to the pyramids, also animated with Bedouins posing. The photos of Australia are regard the Blue Mountains (New South Wales), with some landscapes (i.e. of the 'Three sisters', Nellie's Glen, Bride's Veil, Negalong gate, and the Jenolan caves). Some fading to photographs, for else all in good condition. The Zangaki brothers [frequently mistaken for Langaki as the stylised Z resembles an L] worked extensively in Egypt during the 1860s - 1880s; they specialized in historic or ancient Egyptian scenes, producing prints for the tourist trade. Franois Blondel (1618-1686) fu un celebre architetto e ingegnere francese, divenuto famoso soprattutto per la sua formula da applicare ai calcoli relativi alle scalinate. Nel 'Cours' rifiuta sistematicamente le teorie che Claude Perrault aveva enunciato nei suoi 'Dix livres d'architecture de Vitruve' (1673), inserendosi in tal modo nella cosiddetta Querelle des Anciens et des Modernes - ossia il dibattito artistico-letterario sorto in Francia alla fine del Seicento intorno alla superioritˆ degli antichi sui moderni - a sostegno dei princ"pi degli antichi (come ad es. la simmetria, le colonne, le correzioni ottiche ecc.). Prima edizione italiana, non comune, edita a Pescia poichŽ il Torrentino vi si era dovuto trasferire a causa delle accuse di eresia rivolte al proprio correttore, Ludoviso Domenichi. La sua presenza si prolung˜ per circa un biennio, in maniera forse non continuativa: 4 furono le edizioni a stampa pubblicate in questo periodo, 2 delle quali di opere di Pico della Mirandola. Prima Edizione di questo rarissimo vocabolario bresciano-toscano, primo dizionario del dialetto bresciano e uno dei pi importanti dizionari dialettali del '700. Sembrerebbe compilato dagli allievi del Seminario di Brescia, ma secondo Melzi, Diz. Opere Anonime e pseudonime, III, p. 261, l'autore sarebbe Bartolomeo Pellizzari. Marca tip. xilogr. al front. ed in fine, cc. 211, (9). Terza edizione con il commento di Beno"t le Court (la prima da lui commentata nel 1533, l'op. in se era uscita intorno al 1500). Gli Aresta amorum descrivono - con uno stile che riproduce la lingua ufficiale del tempo - i processi di una finta corte, il parlamento d'Amore, in cui sono discusse tutte le cause giudiziarie relative all'amore, che si concludono con arresti senza appello: gli arresti di Amore. L'autore, che fu uomo di legge oltre che poeta, e famoso bibliofilo, finge di fornire il verbale dei processi, in prosa come naturale, descrivendo 51 casi con i relativi contraddittori tra le parti. Un elemento di particolare interesse dell'opera risiede nel realismo del dettaglio, sia esso concreto che psicologico, ma anche nei tratti umoristici e nella maniera in cui si svolge la narrazione. Come tipologia di testo gli Aresta sembrano rinviare a un'altra raccolta di brevi pezzi narrativi e satirici, vero modello della novella in prosa realistica, e cio Les Quinze Joies de Mariage ou les Cent Nouvelles nouvelles. Il quadro giuridico in cui si inseriscono gli Aresta ha in seguito fatto s" che il giurista Beno"t le Court scrivesse questo commento erudito - in latino, mentre il testo  in francese -, in cui cita fonti antiche e moderne, tra cui Valla, Panormita, Bembo, BudŽ. Rara edizione veneziana del trattato sulla virt delle piante attribuito al veronese Emilio Macro, contemporaneo (e forse amico) di Virgilio, autore di due poemi, uno sugli uccelli e uno sugli antidoti (intitolato Theriak˜n), entrambi molto apprezzati in antichitˆ, tanto che Plinio se ne serv" nella sua Storia naturale. La paternitˆ del De herbarum virtutibus  incerta: questo trattato di botanica tradizionalmente ascritto a Emilio Macro  forse da attribuirsi a Odo Magdunensis, uno scienziato medievale di origini francesi attivo in qualche monastero nella Loira nell'XI secolo. Molto ricca sia la tradizione manoscritta che quella a stampa (prima edizione, Napoli 1477), nonchŽ le traduzioni in altre lingue. Il poema, che descrive in esametri 77 specie vegetali (86 in questa ediz., ma il numero varia a seconda delle ediz.), contiene non solo informazioni sulle virt terapeutiche delle erbe, ma anche sui poteri magici che a queste venivano attribuite sin dall'antichitˆ. Frontespizio inciso, ritratto di A. Carracci, seguono 38 tavole incise in rame, suggestivamente stampate in sanguigna. Rara stampa di questa raccolta, una sorta di contraffazione, cfr. Diz. Biogr. Treccani: ". Pi tardi Venanzio Monaldini ripubblic˜ 38 incisioni del Bellavia, raccogliendole in un volume dal titolo: 'Pensieri diversi lineati et intagliati d'Anibale Caracci. Si vendono presso V. Monaldini'. A tutti i pezzi il Monaldini aggiunse le lettere "A.C. IN.". La maldestra falsificazione del Monaldini si estende al frontespizio (rappresentante il Tempo che invita la Pittura a scrivere su una tavola il titolo dato, e sul quale appare la firma falsa del Bloemaert) e a un ritratto di Annibale Carracci, nel foglio successivo, sul quale, in basso, si legge "Anibale Caracci dis. ed inc. il suo Ritratto". Si tratta di un falso grossolano . che mostra peraltro una migliore qualitˆ nel corpo (secondo il Bartsch opera di un anonimo incisore nel gusto di Pietro Santi Bartoli)".
