A hard-hitting modern British psychological thriller from the acclaimed author of Turmfalke and The Disappearance of Lyndsey Barratt.

Praised on both sides of the Atlantic for his compelling combination of page-turning storytelling skills, relentless tension and unnerving topical themes, John Wilson has now created his most powerful psychological thriller yet – a chilling tale about a breakdown of control in a high-security hospital.

When journalist Ben Kirby leaves London for a new life in rural Wales, he finds a ready-made story almost on his doorstep. Nearby Lindisholm Hospital is a privately run high-security hospital regarded as a model for a new profit-making approach to treating mental illness – until its policy of involving low-risk patients in the local community results in a series of bizarre incidents, including a fatal accident on Ben’s farm. As he investigates, Ben begins to suspect that deep within the cloisters of this ultra-modern facility there are dark and disturbing forces at work...

Recensione:

‘Chilling and entirely believable... the plot zips along like a juggernaut. If you enjoy a hint of the supernatural spiced with a dash of Celtic demon worship, you will enjoy finding just what goes on in the Omega Cloister.’
Birmingham Post

‘A powerfully presented tale... chilling... Omega Cloister is a hard-hitting, compulsive thriller.’
Cambrian News

‘A psychological thriller with a difference... Wilson’s writing style is sharp and riveting. He tells a story well and sustains suspense throughout... This is an exciting book which never fails to hold the reader’s interest.’
Jersey Evening Post

‘John Wilson’s book takes the reader on a rollercoaster ride of primeval and buried emotions – fear of the unknown, mind-numbing terror. It gathers pace quickly and explodes in a cacophony of dread. Excellent.’
Newcastle upon Tyne Journal

L'autore:

John Wilson has had a varied career in business, as a writer on a wide range of technical journals, and as a reporter on TV and radio. Born in Bangor, he now lives in Tregaron, Wales, with his wife Herta Keller, who is a sculptor.

Acclaim for his previous book:

‘Sex, violence and bloody, eye-for-eye vengeance in a fast-paced, contemporary thriller.’
Phillip Knightley, Mail on Sunday

‘Consistently engrossing . . . one of those disturbing good reads, a revenge tale that sticks the knife in deep, then backs off and waits to draw blood again.’ Detroit News
