Ken Brown was born in Birmingham and studied illustration at Birmingham Art College. He moved to London to work in advertising as an art director at J.Walter Thompson. This was followed by a period working at the BBC as a graphic designer. From there he joined a production company specialising in computer graphics, animation and live action, producing commercials for the UK and Europe.
Ken is married to Ruth Brown, the well-known children’s illustrator and they have two sons. They live in Bath.
Mucky Pup was looking for someone to play with, but none of the other farmyard animals seemed to want to have anything to do with him. "You're just a mucky pup," they all said, until Pup started to believe it. Maybe he was too mucky to be anyone's friend. Luckily for Pup, however, there was somebody else in the farmyard who 'did' want to play. And he loved to be mucky just as Pup did!
