Marjorie Blamey – before becoming one of the leading British botanical artists of our time – was in turn a photographer, actress, wartime Red Cross nurse and ambulance driver, and with her husband ran a Cornish dairy farm for 20 years. They sold the farm in 1968 to make field botany and painting a new career. Since then, her books have sold nearly a million copies in many languages.
Christopher Grey-Wilson formerly a botanist at the Royal Botanic Garden Kew, is a well-known writer and plant specialist. He writes regularly for gardening and botanical magazines and is the author of a number of books.
