Alan Feigenbaum, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, devotes himself full-time to writing about personal finance for a variety of print and Web-based publications. His credits include regular columns or frequent features for Bloomberg Wealth Manager, CBS MarketWatch, Worth Interactive, Raleigh News & Observer, Financial Web (Stock Detective), Raging Bull, and Chapel Hill News. He's also been published in The New York Times and LA Times Syndicate, is a columnist for Strong Mutual Funds, and has written for subscription newsletters and other Web sites.
Alan has covered virtually every aspect of personal money management, with particular focus on comprehensive financial planning, retirement, college funding, employee benefits, budgeting and debt management, and home ownership. His passionate advocacy of financial-services consumerism is a common thread throughout his writing. Nevertheless, he flavors his serious financial writing with a sense of humor, which he also brings to his avocation of writing political satire and op-ed―his most recent published piece appearing in the Boston Globe.
Alan resides in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he, his wife, and three daughters all root for the Tar Heels. Alan also roots for Jesse Helms to retire and hopes that he'll take the hint when Alan sends him this book.
