Hardcover. Condizione: Good. First Edition. Complete in two volumes. From the collection of sociologist Ira L. Reiss, with his blind stamp on front end page and his notations throughout the text/margins. Dr. Reiss was a pioneering researcher and educator whose work, primarily at the University of Minnesota and as a charter member and director of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sex, aimed to broaden the theoretical and scientific framework used in the study of human sexuality, the family and gender roles. He also is among the many illustrious contributors to this work, authoring the article "Sexual Behavior". Macmillan Library Reference / Simon & Schuster Macmillan, 1996; First Printing with full number line; lxix, 531pp. / [ii], 533-1115pp. Bindings are sturdy and fully intact; very minor wear to edges of black cloth boards, yellow/orange stamped titling remains bold; Reiss's underlining and notation mostly limited to Vol. I introductory chapters and contributor lists--several are circled, including "Family Values" article author Dan Quayle, which received Reiss's annotation "UGH!"--text is otherwise clean and free of markings. No dust jackets, likely as issued. A great copy of this increasingly scarce collection, with a unique provenance. Due to the size/weight of this set extra charges will apply for international and/or expedited shipping. Ships same or next business day from Dinkytown in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
