Tod Linberg states he is looking at Jesus's socio-political message from a non-theological viewpoint. He lets the texts speak for themselves, linking them in a meticulous way. Starting with the Sermon on the Mount and then drawing on parables, he reveals the implications of Jesus's ideas. Scholarly and erudite, it was an enervating read. As a Christian, it opened my eyes to the depth and perception of the message of Jesus for the here and now. I can't praise the book too highly.- R. A contributing editor to the Weekly Standard and editor of the book Beyond Paradise and Power, Lindberg is a frequent analyst on National Public Radio. He lives in Washington, D.C., with his family.
