MARIO BATALI, known on television from his many Food Network appearances for years, is making his debut as a public television host. He went to high school in Spain, learned how to eat and drink there, and runs two Spanish restaurants in New York City. According to Fortune Magazine, Mario is one of the 100 most recognized personalities in the US and according to Gwyneth Paltrow, a bigger star in the United States than herself. Batali lives in New York City with his wife Susi Cahn of Coach Farms and their two sons. He is the author of the celebrated cookbook Molto Italiano and the upcoming Italian Grill (May 08).
