He is Director of Technology and Senior Adviser at the Schlumberger headquarters in Sugar Land, Texas. Dr. Thambynayagam has been granted a number of patents in technologies related to petroleum engineering and has published generously in the scientific literature. He is one of the leading experts in the world on the topic, and his expertise derives from a long career in dealing with important practical and industrial problems covered in this book.
