THE JUNGLE PLAY was discovered among Kipling's papers at the University of Sussex Library. Based on the original stories of THE JUNGLE BOOKS the play escaped the destruction that befell almost all of Kipling's other unpublished works. This is undoubtedly an important addition to Kipling's canon and cries out to be fully staged. This edition has been meticulously edited by Thomas Pinney and Pinney has also written a fascinating introduction. With the full text there are also a number of rough drawings made by Kipling for THE JUNGLE BOOKS.
