Be on the brink of Lily B's world with her third and fantastically funny diary! Lily Blennerhasset is very excited. She is on a school trip with her classmates to Paris (nay, Pareee) a city of sophistication and culture. Here is real material for a future famous novelist such as herself. Lily is convinced that, years hence, readers will peruse her diary entries and Paris will literally spring to life before them. The pages themselves will smell lightly of dijon mustard and baguettes. But when Lily gets separated from the group' (breaking her mother's biggest commandment) she embarks on adventure involving tourist traps, accidental consumption of cow tongue and a whole different take on Pareee.

About the Author:

A fantastic addition to the Puffin list, Elizabeth Cody Kimmel is also an established author in the US she has written non-fiction and picture books as well as the popular Lily B series. Lily B - on the Brink of Cool and Lily B on the Brink of Love are previous Lily adventures on the Puffin list. Elizabeth currently lives in New York, USA with her actor husband, young daughter and fainting beagle, Milo.

From School Library Journal:

Grade 5–8—This third episode finds eighth-grader Lily and seven of her classmates in Paris. During the trip, she keeps a journal that she is sure will provide material for her Great Parisian Novel. She admits in the very first line that "Everything I know about Paris, I've learned from the Madeline books." The class geek, the Vault of Information, and the flower child provide comic relief, if not believable story lines as the detail-disoriented Lily careers through the city without ever reading the guidebook or listening to the chaperone. References to pop culture may stump readers and rob this book of a timeless feel, but it will satisfy those looking for light, fun fiction.—Cheryl Ashton, Amherst Public Library, OH
