We ... owe a debt to Allard and Stock, for in collecting together all the key sections from The Principles of Logic, Appearance and Reality and Essays on Truth and Reality, they have successfully distilled the essence of Bradley's system in his own words in one manageable volume. Moreover, the volume has been edited together with skill and a scholarly attention to detail ... The book has a large number of excellent - that is to say, both accurate and very helpful - introductions; a general introduction, one dealing with his logic and one with his metaphysics, as well as shorter pieces introducing many of the individual chapters ... this is an excellent selection that deserves to be very widely read and will hopefully go some way towards filling a very lamentable gap in most philosophers' knowledge of the history of their own subject.
