This edition, despite increasing in size from 145 to 264 pages, has managed to retain both its appearance and practicality, allowing ready revision of regional anatomy in the operating theatre and elsewhere...this is an excellent revision of an established handbook.

This is well worth buying as a quick reference guide to regional anaesthetic techniques. Although written about a subspecialty of anaesthesia which is developing rapidly, this book will still be useful in decades to come to help ensure the right dose of the right drug is given at the right place. Peter Marhofer is Professor of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine and Head of Paediatric Anaesthesia in the Department of Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine and Pain Therapy at the University of Vienna, Austria. Prof. Marhofer is also a leading member of the Austrian Regional Anaesthesia Group, which has developed and performed ultrasound-guided regional blocks (approximately 25,000 procedures) over the past 15 years and has held practical workshops in the field for participants from all over the world.
