Recensione:

"This book is the most scholarly and well balanced American History book in the country. The authors' slpendid effort in condesning and arranging the material resulted in a narrative where each chapter was appropriately fused as well as each chapter being of sufficient length and properly titled. The text generates enthusiasm for the discipline and thus engages my students to pursue the study of history."

    - Wyatt S. Moulds, Jones County Junior College

"I particularly enjoy the charge of urging readers to "reach their own conclusions" about history and the significance of history in their lives. This approach makes the course comfortable to teach while allowing some latitude for discussion and the introduction or consideration of different points of view."

    - Ken Poston, Lamar University
