Descrizione libro Hardcover. Condizione: Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. Hugh Lofting (illustratore). New edition. Small (7.25" x 5") oblong hardcover with printed paper covered boards and illustrated endpapers. First thus. First published in the U.S. by Stokes in 1936, and in the U.K. by Cape in 1937. This new edition came out in the U.S. in 1968 from Lippincott, and this edition from Cape, undated, but in 1969. That this printing hung around for a year before selling through is shown by the fact that the jacket of this copy was clipped by the publisher and re-priced with a label showing both the U.K. pre-decimal and decimal currencies. And because the pre-decimal currency comes first, this must have been done in 1970. The book itself is a lovely little story for an audience younger than the Dr Dolittle readers. It is illustrated with four color plates and plenty of the author's quirky black and white drawings. A lovely little thing. A fine copy in very good dust jacket indeed with ghost of a label on front panel, very slight browning of spine panel and minimal wear to spine ends. Even harder to find than the companion volume, "The Story of Mrs Tubbs". Codice articolo 000191
