Alessandro Baricco was born in Turin in 1958. He is the author of two other novels, CASTELLI DI RABBIA, which won the Prix Medicis and the Campiello prize, and SILK, which has been an international bestseller, translated into twenty-seven languages.OCEAN SEA has been awarded the Viareggio and Palazzo del Bosco prizes in Italy. He has also written works in the field of musicology.
