The idea of producing this volume for the press was suggested to me by a friend, who had been looking over my sporting memoranda, to which has been affixed, at his particular request, an account of my sporting career, from my earliest recollections. The work has no pre tensions to any lucidus ordo in the arrangement of the Chapters, which are merely excerpta from my scrap-book, somewhat resembling the various receipts contained in a cookery book, which I h0pe, however, may not prove wholly unpalatable to the Sporting Public.
