Which great Fault, no Logician or Geometrtcian would ever have pardoned, had not tho/e Authors done laudahle Things in their other Mathematical Writings. Indeed, this Fault of theirs is common to all Modern Writers of Elements, who all fplit on the jizme' Rock; and to fhew their Skill, hlame Eu-z. Did, for what, on the contrary, he ought to he commended I mean, the Definition of proportional Quantities, wherein he jhews an ea/y Property of thofi Qgtantities, taking in hath commeryurahle and incommen/urahle ones, and from which all the other Proper tier of P roporti anals do eafily follow.
