She calls herself Rune. She lives a downtown life and works running errands for a couple of documentary filmakers. At 21, she's nowhere and that's not where she wants to be, so armed with a borrowed Betacam, she embarks on a freelance career of making movies herself.

Descrizione libro Hodder & Stoughton, 2001. Hardcover. Condizione libro: Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Fine. 1st Edition. This is a signed, near fine, first edition, first impression hardback in a fine dust wrapper. There are no marks or inscriptions of any kind. The only writing is Mr Deaver’s signature, without dedication, to the title page. The text block is tight and square with slight age toning to the top of the page block (hardly noticeable). The black boards are pristine as is the gilt lettering to the spine. The unclipped dust wrapper is complete with no tears or marks. The colours are vibrant. The original price of £17.99 remains. The dust wrapper is now protected by a removable, acid free acetate sleeve. The book is from the unsold stock of a high street bookshop. As such it has not seen the light of day until being acquired by us. Mr Deaver, a former lawyer and journalist, is one of the USA’s leading and most respected writers of crime novels and psychological thrillers. He has won numerous awards for his work on both sides of the Atlantic. These include the Steel Dagger and Short Story Dagger from the British Crime Writers' Association as well as the Ellery Queen Reader's Award. His novels feature regularly in the New York Times Bestsellers List. This is the second novel in the ‘Rune Trilogy’. By now our heroine has left her job as a video shop assistant to try her hand at film making. She believes she has discovered a suitable story line when one of New York’s blue movie cinemas is blown up. Rune decides to use the life story of the star of the blue movie being shown at the time as the basis for her first film. Her ambitions are thwarted when the lady concerned is murdered. Once again Rune’s inquisitive nature and refusal to heed danger signs lead her into a perilous situation. Another superbly drafted story centered on the delightful character of Rune. An enormously difficult book to find especially flat signed; probably the hardest of Mr Deaver’s novels to discover in UK first edition. The book will be a worthy addition to any library or collection. The images you see are high resolution scans of the actual book you will receive. It will be dispatched via The Royal Mail in protective packaging. We do not charge postage to buyers within the UK. We offer a 7 day no quibble full refund if the item is not as described and shown. Extra scans are available on request. We stock all Mr Deaver’s novels in signed first edition. Signed by Author(s). Codice libro della libreria 1495
