The layout of the book, as well as the ideas it contains, give it an immediate appearance of being straightforward, but at the same time stimulating. Its pages are full of clear explanations and well thought-out tasks, enhanced by attractive pictures. One of the best things about this text book is that it has been carefully tailored for a very particular purpose: to help pupils who need to focus on certain skills in order to make their writing a Level 6. Just reading through this book would help a teacher to check that all the skills that Sue Hackman highlights are being explicity taught in their classroom.
