Suarez no es mas feliz querien do esplicar los efectos de la gracia, por medio del ¿cºncurso de Dios y del hombre. Los jesuitas sin embargo, producían esta doctrina con tal confianza y con tal menospecio de los demas teólogos, que luego se grangearon una infinidad de enemigos. Las disputas con los dominicos se animaron de tal suerte, que la Santa - Sede hubo de intervenir, permitiendo á los rivales las solemnes asambleas conocidas con el nombre de congregaciones 'de eu xíl£s _que con el silencio de Roma no hicieron sino, encarnizar mas y mas a los opuestos bandos reforzándose los unos con las universidades, y los otros con sus adeptos.
