Excerpt from The Oberlin Alumni Magazine, Vol. 15: November, 1918
The introduction of a unit of the Students' Army Training Corps into Oberlin College has brought about a number of apparent changes in college policy, changes far - reach ing enough to suggest to alumni and other interested observers that under the stress of war the college is undergoing a profound and per manent transformation. I do not think that this is necessarily true, and I am glad to accept the invita tion of the editor of the Alumni Magazine to give my view of the situation as it now exists.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book discusses the history of the American armed forces' largest and most innovative unit for people of color during World War I: the 92nd Infantry Division, an all-black combat group that distinguished itself in combat and paved the way for desegregation in the post-war military. The author, who drew heavily on archival documents, provides a detailed account of the unit's training and service, its struggle against prejudice and discrimination, and its ultimate triumph on the battlefield. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in the history of race and the military, and a powerful reminder of the ongoing fight for social justice.
