This graduate-level textbook on the control of aircraft presents derivations of the fundamentals of aircraft control theory, such as modelling and dynamic analysis, stability evaluation, application of multivariable control theory and computer-aided design utilizing modern computational methods. The impact of computers in design and on the control of aircraft is reflected throughout the book, including coverage of orbital trajectories around the Earth which allow a presentation of the theory for the new suborbital aircraft being developed by several countries. Modern control theory is presented throughout as a natural extension of classical methods. A solutions manual is available to accompany the text.
