Candle's Christmas Chair

9780473313524: Candle's Christmas Chair

When Viscount Avery comes to see the best invalid chair maker in the southwest of England he does not expect to find Minerva Bradshaw, the woman who rejected him three years earlier. Or did she? Older and wiser, he wonders if there is more to the story. For three years, Min Bradshaw has remembered the handsome guardsman who courted her for her fortune. She didn't expect to see him in her workshop, and she certainly doesn't intend to let him fool her again. Even if he is handsomer and more charming than ever. Candle’s Christmas Chair is a sweet traditional novella set in late Georgian England. When Candle finds the woman who has been haunting his dreams for three years, he quickly realises that, whatever causes her to flee his courtship three years ago, it wasn’t what he’d been told at the time. Now he has until she finishes the chair for his mother to convince her to marry him. Min is a carriage-maker’s daughter. Educated beyond her station, she once dreamed of stepping into the fairy tale world of the ton, only to have her dreams crushed. Now the man she cannot forget is back, and he seems determined to raise those false hopes all over again. But she only has to hold out until she finishes the chair for his mother, and she can walk away again.

After a career in commercial writing, editing, and publishing, I am returning to my first love, fiction. I love capable determined heroines, and heroes who appreciate them. My first novel is Farewell to Kindness, number one in The Golden Redepennings, publication date 1 April 2015. I have several novels in progress, and plot outlines for 40+, all set in the early 19th century. The plans include seven series, several stand-alone novels, novellas, and short stories, and a number of characters who intersect across series.
