Author and broadcaster James Sherwood is the author of Savile Row: The Master Tailors of British Bespoke and Fashion at Royal Ascot: Three Centuries of Thoroughbred Style and The Perfect Gentleman: Timeless Elegance in London all published by Thames & Hudson. His new book James Sherwood's Discriminating Guide to London is published in September 2015. He has edited the Louis Vuitton Guide to London for eight years including 2015 and was the BBCs fashion critic at Royal Ascot for eight. Having been invited by the last of the Gieve family to curate the archive at No 1 Savile Row for Gieves & Hawkes in 2008, he is now archivist for Savile Row founding father Henry Poole & Co and was a design consultant for Anderson & Sheppard. Sherwood has written about the luxury goods business for international broadsheets such as the Financial Times, International Herald Tribune, the Independent and Daily Telegraph for over twenty years and is now fashion history editor of The Rake. He regularly broadcasts on British and American television about royal style, the diamond business and bespoke tailoring. In 2007, James Sherwood curated the first retrospective exhibition of Savile Row bespoke tailoring at Palazzo Pitti in Florence titled The London Cut and wrote an accompanying book of the same name. The exhibition subsequently travelled to the British Ambassadors' Residences in Paris and Tokyo. He has curated a museum for the Savoy hotel. He is working on a biography of Royal shirt maker Turnbull & Asser.
