There are three main groups of children who must be assessed neurologically with emphasis on minor neurological dysfunction. First, there are those in whom neurological disease in its initial stage is suspected; second, there are children with obvious neurological disorders, such as cerebral palsy, where it is important to discover all facets of neurological impairment in deciding upon treatment.
