Whitworth is the author of Einstein's Wake: Relativity, Metaphor, and Modernist Literature (2001), Virginia Woolf (2005), Reading Modernist Poetry (2010), Virginia Woolf: Mrs Dalloway (2015), and editor of Woolf's Orlando (2015). He is a Tutorial Fellow at Merton College, Oxford, and a University Lecturer in the English Faculty, University of Oxford.
