The third novel and fourth book (after "Sadie", "Salka" and a non-fiction book on nuns) from this writer and journalist. Two of her novels featuring nuns have been filmed: "Sacred and Profane" as a French movie called "The Pact of Silence" with Gerard Depardieu, and "Body and Soul" as a 1993 television mini-series. Back in the 1960's she wrote a column for the Observer Magazine, often interviewing prominent figures in the arts and entertainment world. This fine copy, in a fine dust jacket, is inscribed, signed and dated by the author on the title page "-, with warmest regards - Marcelle, May 88". (May 1988 being the month of publication.)
