This book was developed for occupational, physical and speech therapists working with patients with dementia across all facility settings. Dementia Therapy & Program Development is uniquely designed to provide the therapist with step-by-step guidance to develop appropriate protocols for this population from the moment they receive the order for an evaluation, to discharge. Written by practicing therapists, the content is current, essential, informative, includes essentials of goal writing, a goal bank for OT, PT and ST, and 5 evidence-based interventions for successful patient engagement. There is not another book like it on the market.

I think the Dementia Program is great. It provides a step-by-step process as to how to implement the dementia program in our facility, from referrals, assessments, treatment to the establishment of a functional maintenance program. --Sally, SLP
Due to their expertise and assistance with this population, we have implemented a dementia program in our own facility, and have found significant improvement with our elders with dementia. Since the program's inception, all staff have reported less falls, more engaged elders, increased meaningful activities and structure, and increased compliance with eating. Our SNF has also found reimbursement appropriate for all clients due to their assistance with documentation, and no denials. --Angela, OTR
The strategies used in this dementia program have made my physical therapy treatments more effective. Specifically, I have been able to have the patient perform strength and range of motion of the lower extremities by having the patient reminisce during their exercises. --Raha, PT
