David W. Berner is an award-winning journalist, broadcaster, author, and teacher. In 2011, he was awarded the position of Writer-in-Residence at the Jack Kerouac Project in Orlando, Florida. His writing, including journalism, personal essays, and fiction have appeared in many publications and online journals. His first book - Accidental Lessons - was awarded the Royal Dragonfly Grand Prize for Literature. His second book – After Opium – is a collection of short-short stories, some of which have been published elsewhere. His broadcast reporting and audio documentaries have been aired on the CBS Radio Network and a number of public radio stations across America.
