The mountains are ever present (e.g. section I: Once Upon a Mountain Time, section II: Mountains in My Blood Growing up with Trees etc), with the book as a whole capturing 'the special flavour and inimitable spirit of the small towns and villages that dot the Himalayan and sub-Himalayan region.' Appealing b/w illustrations/sketches. Condition: DJ - attractive illustration across both front and back covers: intact with some edgewear/scuffing at the edges; including where the plastic coating has peeled back slightly. Orange sticker label on reverse (image). Book block: royal blue cloth boards with pale blue titles along the spine. Some slight fading of the cloth at the edges and corners. Internally, there is some tanning throughout but of a mild even tone. There is a note/signature on the title page (image). pp. x, 251/8vo. Illustrations by Vinita Chand.
