William Trevor's Collected Stories was published in 1992 to great acclaim. Since then he has published four new collections: After Rain, The Hill Bachelors, A Bit on the Side and Cheating at Canasta. The stories from these later collections have now been added to those in the 1992 book, to make two highly collectable volumes containing the complete shorter fiction of 'the greatest living writer of short stories' (John Banville).

L'autore:
William Trevor was born in Mitchelstown, County Cork in 1928, and lives now in Devon. As well as being regarded as a master of the short story, he has published a number of award-winning novels, most recently Love and Summer (August 2009).

William Trevor's Collected Stories, first published in 1992, gathered together the stories from seven previous volumes together with a handful that had not hitherto been published in book form. Since then Trevor has published a further four highly acclaimed volumes - After Rain (1996), The Hill Bachelors (2000), A Bit on the Side (2004) and Cheating at Canasta (2007). All the stories from these four collections have now been incorporated into this new two-volume Collected Stories - thereby making available the complete shorter fiction of a writer whom John Banville has called 'the greatest living writer of short stories'.
