Descrizione libro CHATTO & WINDUS, LONDON, 1960. Hardback. Condizione libro: Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Besides the things of the spirit and the underworld of war, Greece has provided Sir Compton with a direct political stimulus which he has seized with gusto. The treatment of Greece after 1919 filled him with indicnation and more recently he has been stirred again by the Cyprus problem. In both cases he discovered two of the things he most abhors - stupidity and sharp practice. But this book ends on quite a different note. In 1958 the BBC asked him to go to Greece to star in a series of films about ancient Greece which have since been seen on British screens by millions of viewers. Sir Compton tells how the films were made and his readers will not only derive, as usual, sheer enjoyment from his account of these things, but will also be extremely interested to learn just how much and what goes into the construction of half an hour's celluloid entertainment. The unclipped dustwrapper is marked and bumped to edges. However, it is intact and is described as near fine for the age of the book. The book is sold in FINE condition Size: 212pp. HARDBACK.
