Gutes Ex.; Einband berieben. - Englisch. - Einzelband. - Virginia Woolf (* 25. Januar 1882 in London; 28. . (wiki) // . This fifth volume of Virginia Woolf's letters covers the years 1932-35 when she was in her early fifties. She was writing The Tears, one of her most important novels; the second volume of her critical essays, The Common Reader; the story of Mrs. Browning's dog, Flush; and her only play, Freshwater. During this period she was developing the strong feminist opinions which she had expressed in A Room of One's Own and expanded into Three Guineas, and was becoming deeply concerned about the growing menace of Fascism at home and abroad. She maintained an active social life in Bloomsbury, helped Leonard Woolf with the work of the Hogarth Press, and went with him on annual holidays abroad. Her principal correspondents were still her sister Vanessa Bell, Ethel Smyth and Vita Sackville-West, but there are over seventy others, including T. S. Eliot, Stephen Spender, Lady Ottoline Morrell, Hugh Walpole, William Plomer, and her two nephews, Julian and Quentin Bell. .
