Kenny have collected from among his published and unpublished works a score of papers which are worth preserving. Topics covered include existence and non- existence, possibility and necessity, self-reference and self-perception, the nature of inference and of intentionality, and the autonomy of ethics. All the essays display Prior's unique gift for the applica- tion of modern logical insights and techniques to traditional ethical and metaphysical problems. The collection includes five hitherto unpublished papers: 'On some Proofs of the Existence of God', 'It Was to Be', 'What is Logic?', 'What do General Statements Refer to ?', 'Things and Stuff'.
