The aspects covered by a team of scholars of international reputa tion, including Frances Yates, S. A. Javawardene, John Sparrow and J. R. Hale, illuminate hitherto neglected themes of key importance such as the humanistic epistolary collection and the funeral oration, anthologies of neo Latin poetry, Neoplatonic influences on the art theory of Leonardo da Vinci, and the ideas that inspired the military train ing of officers.
