9780736034234: Your Perfect Swing

Every golfer has an ideal swing based on natural tendencies, physical strengths, and desired shot pattern, which is why copying friends or favorite players usually doesn't work. In Your Perfect Swing, leading PGA instructor Dr. Jim Suttie shows you how to identify your tendencies and master a swing that's consistent and repeatable under pressure.

Suttie's award-winning teaching system will show you how to

-match the feel for your swing with the actual mechanics;

-find your physical power source and use it to build a fundamentally sound swing;

-select from 13 pro models that share your power source and reinforce your ideal swing pattern;

-recognize patterns based on ball flight, divots, and club selection in order to make adjustments during a round or on the range;

-customize your swing based on personal preference and on-course situations; and

-use the 14 key swing positions as a maintenance tool to keep your swing on track.

Don't waste time practicing the wrong swing for your game. Get Your Perfect Swing and unlock the natural swing that will help you become the best player possible.

From the Publisher:

"When I first met Jim Suttie I couldn’t break 80 two days in a row. After three years with Jim as my coach, I was on the PGA Tour. His knowledge of the swing and expert analysis are unmatched."

Paul Azinger 12-time winner, PGA Tour Six national teams, Ryder Cup (4), and Presidents Cup (2) Analyst, ABC Sports

"Dr. Suttie immediately got my game back on track with just a few lessons. He showed me how to use my body type to swing the golf club rather than fight my natural tendencies, and my swing became more efficient and reliable under pressure."

Vicki Goetze-Ackerman 21 LPGA Tour Top 10s Three-time American Junior Golf Association Player of the Year

"A lot of golf gurus overwhelm us with theories and mechanics. Dr. Jim Suttie separates himself from the masses by making things as simple as possible and by working with what a student has. There is nobody better at applying his knowledge to a person’s talent, or lack of it."

Bob Verdi Senior writer, Golf Digest and Golf World Contributing columnist, Chicago Tribune

About the Author:

Jim Suttie has a doctor of arts degree with a concentration in biomechanics from Middle Tennessee State University. Known as the teacher's teacher and teacher of the pros, he has 36 years of experience in golf instruction and is currently the golf coach for Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Myers, Florida. Suttie has taught more than 150 PGA, LPGA, and Champions tour professionals including Chip Beck, Fred Funk, Carin Koch, Vicki Goetze-Ackerman, Steve Flesch, Silvia Cavalleri, Loren Roberts, Tom Purtzer, and Paul Azinger. On an international level, Suttie has worked with golfers on every world tour including the European Tour, Japanese Tour, and Asian Tour, and he is presently a consultant for the Dutch Federation.

Upon completion of his doctorate, Suttie went on to study how the body is designed to function, incorporating his years of practical experience with his academic background to develop the best method for golfers to achieve the perfect swing. He is also credited with bringing the use of high-speed video to golf instruction.

Suttie is a Golf Magazine Top 100 teaching professional. Golf Digest magazine named him the top golf teacher in Illinois in its biennial list of America's 50 Greatest Teachers for 2007-08, and ranked him within the top 20 teachers in America. He has secured a spot on the Golf Digest America's 50 Greatest Teachers list since it's inception in 2000. Suttie was also named the PGA of America's National Teacher of the Year in 2000, and is a three-time recipient of the Illinois PGA Teacher of the Year award. Suttie writes regularly for Golf Magazine, Golf Digest, and Golf Tips. He has been seen frequently on the Golf Channel, is a member of the PGA Teaching Summit, and conducts numerous seminars for the PGA. Suttie's Web site is www.JimSuttie.com.

Suttie lives in Bonita Springs, Florida, with his wife, Sandra.
