L'autore:

John W. Cairns is Professor of Legal History at the University of Edinburgh (LLB PhD). His research interests cluster around law and the Enlightenment, the history of Scots law, codification in Louisiana, and law and slavery. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (FRSE) and Professor of Legal History in the University of Edinburgh.

Elspeth Reid is Professor of Scottish Private Law at the University of Edinburgh. She has published extensively in Scotland and abroad on comparative private law themes, including in particular the law of delict/tort. She is the Series Editor of the Edinburgh Studies in Law monograph series.
