Organizations are most effective when the teams accountable for the organization's success are performing to the best of their abilities. When the relationships within the team work well and all members of the team have a clear focus, the team has a significant impact on achieving goals and building business.

Leadership Team Coaching is aimed at people who have the responsibility to encourage and develop a team. It provides a thorough understanding of the role and importance of the team to organizational objectives and provides practical tools and techniques to facilitate effective team performance. Offering a practical road map with numerous examples, Peter Hawkins brings together the latest research to illustrate how to develop people from disparate groups into a high performing team to transform a business.

The second edition is completely updated to look at the latest changes at the world of leadership teams and team coaching. It takes an in-depth look at the area of coaching the board and includes a new chapter on training leadership team coaches as well as new case material across sectors internationally.

Review:

"Leadership Team Coaching is a practical guide loaded with plenty of examples and much to succeed, a strongly recommended choice." (Internet Bookwatch Midwest Book Review)

"Leadership Team Coaching is THE book I have wanted to see written in the last few years; It has so much potential to guide team coaching practice. I anticipate that it will become a benchmark guide for this emerging field. It will certainly be my benchmark!" (Catherine Carr, CEC Counselling Victoria)

"Will engage not only the coach-practitioner but also any leader curious to learn more about the dynamics of developing a team that has measurable and sustainable impact." (Jacqueline Scholes-Rhodes Team Coach and author of "Touchpoint Leadership")

"[A] welcome addition to the new and evolving team coaching field... One of the most interesting propositions that Hawkins puts forward is that teams need to do regular stakeholder analyses and broaden their coaching focus beyond just the interpersonal dynamics and internal workings of the team... a practical and detailed framework that is useful for both coaches and leaders who are new to team coaching and experienced coaches like me who want to develop their knowledge further in this area." (Jacqueline Peters Leadership Coach and Consultant)

"[W]ell researched and practical volume... In Hawkins’ Leadership Team Coaching, we find an excellent guide for developing the coaches who will help us to ensure success at every level. By building on the best research on teams and the coaches that support them, Hawkins has succeeded in giving up a practical set of tools to ensure a bright future for our companies in which these teams can work and grow." (Richard J. Chagnon Personnel Psychology)

"Hawkins (leadership, Henley Management College) provides a guide for team coaches and leaders to tools and techniques that facilitate effective leadership team performance. After detailing the key elements of a high-performance leadership team, he describes the five disciplines of team performance; the new craft of team coaching; how the relationship of the coach and the team develops through stages; ways of coaching each of the disciplines; other types of teams, such as management, project, virtual, international, customer or client account teams, and the board; and finding, selecting, assessing, working with, training, developing, and supervising coaches." (Eithne O'Leyne Book News, Inc.)

"The best book yet on team coaching." (Dr. Mike Monro Turner)

"Peter Hawkins - a coach with experience in industry, education and government - deftly explains who leadership team coaches are, what they do, and what tools and techniques they use. getAbstract recommends this hearty introduction to those who aspire to become or to work with a team coach; Hawkins can help your teams reach their goals on the field or in the boardroom." (getAbstract Inc.)
