But to do that, Dex must cope with a certain mutilated sergeant from his past, and more importantly...stay alive...

Every instinct told me to disapprove of these books (which have now been turned into a hit TV series on both sides of the Atlantic), and to condemn their flippancy about depravity but, dammit, Dexter has a way of getting under your skin. His one-liners are funny (in a very dark way) and the plots are intriguing... Serially wicked stuff. (Matthew Lewin GUARDIAN)
