Author Amy Goodpaster Strebe and photographer Russ Bryant take us behind the scenes with the US Marines during Operation Iraqi Freedom. While the embedded reporters did a fantastic job of bringing viewers glimpses of the action and activity during combat operations, this title looks between those video takes to show what day-to-day life and the conditions that these heroes endured. The table of contents frames the views that this color-packed photo chronicle covers: Desert Landing Early Warning Into the Frey, Part 1 The Receiving Ward Dog Days Into the Frey, Part 2 A Time For Prayer Wall Art Spare Time Stars & Stripes The PX Night Falls This is a great title for families of those who were there, historians wanting to get this information while it is still fresh (and not re-interpreted) and for the modeler who would like to get the look and feel of the surroundings.
