Linda Heinrich has lived in British Columbia all of her life. She was born and raised in Prince Rupert, trained as a registered nurse St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, learned to weabe in Prince George and later moved to Victoria where most of her research for an in-depth study of linen was conducted. A study was a requirement for a Master Weaver's Certificate which she received in 1986 from the Guild of Canadian Weavers. Linda travelled to England, Northern Ireland, Belgium and Sweden in 1988 to conduct further research. The first edition of The Magic of Linen: Flax Seed to Woven Cloth was published in 1992. For many years she lectured and taught linen weaving including four "Convergence" events. Flax and linen related articles have been included in Handwoven and Spin-Off maganizes. Linda and her husband, Jack, reside in Kelowna, British Columbia.
