Blood Rush, Springer's first book, was releasd in May 1994 by Pinnacle Books. The true crime, psychological profile, is of Texas serial killer Ricky Lee Green. The work was chosen as one of the featured selections of the True Crime Book Club in August 1994. Green's execution in October 1997 was witnessed by Springer.

Springer is a former North-Texas-area newspaper reporter and radio news director. She has appeared on Current Affair, the Geraldo Rivera Show, and will appear soon on the Learning Channel's Medical Detectives. Springer resides in Dallas, Texas.
