Dutchman Tim Kliphuis, one of the world s finest jazz violinists, takes the style of Stéphane Grappelli forward by fusing it with Classical and Folk music. Since the start of his solo career in 2004, Kliphuis has performed with Bucky Pizzarelli, Martin Taylor, Bob Wilber, Fapy Lafertin, Angelo Debarre and Stochelo Rosenberg, and also Jay Ungar and Frankie Gavin. He performs internationally at venues ranging from jazz clubs to Folk festivals and Classical concert halls, including North Sea and Edinburgh Jazz Festival, Djangofests in the States, Ronnie Scott s London, Richard Strauss Festival and Concertgebouw Amsterdam. His CD The Grappelli Tribute (2005) was released to rave reviews, followed by Swingin Through the Classics (2007) and Live in Glasgow (2007) and Counterpoint Swing (2008).
